Our Men & Women Pelvic Health Care Service provides treatment for:
- Bladder problems such as urinary incontinence, urgency, voiding dysfunction, overactive / irritable bladder
- Bowel problems such as faecal incontinence, constipation & defaecation difficulties
- Perinatal Care in line with “Mummy MOT”
- Pregnancy related pelvic girdle & back pain
- Postnatal Diastasis Rectus Abdominis (DRAM)
- Pelvic Organ Prolapse
- Pre & post pelvic surgery rehabilitation Pelvic Pain
What to expect:
All patients undergo a thorough assessment. This starts with a detailed interview about your symptoms. In preparation, your physio will send you an initial questionnaire so that you know what to expect and can bring all the relevant information. Physical examination may involve examination of the spine, pelvis, hips and internal pelvic region. Details of this will be discussed in the initial appointment and a chaperone can be arranged if preferred.
Treatments may include:
- Pelvic Floor Muscle Rehabilitation
- Perinatal guidance & exercise therapy
- Electrical Stimulation therapy
- Biofeedback therapy
- Advice and education to enable self- management
- Manual Therapy
- Fluid Management & Bladder Training
- Pain management
- Onward referral as appropriate
